I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Directorate General Statistics, Ministry of Finance Timor-Leste for giving me the opportunity to apply for this National Accounts Workshop in SUVA, FIJI.  It had been a very long journey for me and I have learnt a lot of different Compilation, techniques, skills and experiences from Pacific Country use the National Accounts measure. 
To my office National Statistics Economics and Social Directorate, Ms. Paulina Rita Viegas, for always supporting me to aim high and to be successful in my workshop, you have been a very true friend and a boss to me.  To all my friends and working colleagues thank you for all your tremendous support. I will never forget your constant flow of emails to keep my spirit up and make me feel closer to home, while in FIJI.

I.                   Introduction.

Based on invitation Pacific Financial Technical Assistance Centre to General Directorate Statistics, Ministry of Finance Timor-Leste, and data May 21, 2013 to attend National Accounts Workshop started on June 17 – 21, 2013 in SUVA, FIJI. The total participants from 16 countries compose 23 participants at the Pacific Country.
At the opening ceremony premises at the PFTAC office in SUVA, FIJI. Mr. Gregory Legoff, PFTAC Statistics Advisor Mr. Michael Andrews, PFTAC Statistics Advisor Ms. Nilima Lal, Economic Statistician, Secretariat of the Pacific Community  Ms. Tiriara Moaniga, Economic Statistician, KNSO. Jan Gottschalk, IMF Senior Economist Mr. Bimlesh Krishna, Economic Statistician, FIJI Bureau Office Statistics.
The workshop brings together PFTAC, IMF, ADB and ABS to the statistical official as well forms Ministry of Finance and Bank Central. National Accounts Workshop designed to improve knowledge and skills for staff to Compilation and Analysis.
The programme also aims to enhance appreciation of Pacific Country society and culture and understanding of the Pacific Country statistical system national accounts using measure national Accounts.

II.                Objective the National Accounts Workshop.

The main objective workshop is;
1.      The System National Accounts 2008, standard, with the main emphasis on the measure of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
2.      Compilation methods and use of source data to produce national accounts.
3.      Quality assurance and information Management.
